Watoto Na Vipaji;Leo Tunaye da'Miriam Chirwa!!!!!

'A Wonder kid: disabled yet a sensational singer'

She live at Makongo Juu area, Kinondoni, Dar es salaam. She was born on 15th Sept 1998. She has an exciting testimony of her life as she was born very tiny with eye disability. However, despite of all these, she is very talented, brave and intelligent. She also does well in school. Her name is Miriam Thomas Chirwa, popularly known as "Evangelist Miriam" an upcoming Gospel Music Singer. Her mother Hilda went through hardships during her pregnancy and this contributed to her getting birth to an impaired child. Besides this situation of hers, her parents didn't lose hope on her rather they kept her in spite of the community despising her.
EDUCATION
Due to her visual impairment, she was delayed to start school because of the doctors recommendations. Her extraordinarily small body also exaggerated her age. However, she later joined Uhuru Inclusive Primary School (Uhuru Mchanganyiko) a 'special' school located along Uhuru Road near Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School. She is currently in class v.
MUSIC BACKGROUND
Miriam was discovered talented even before she hit 2 years. She used to sing hymn songs with a unique voice. When she was 3 years her mother Hilda started composing and teaching her simple songs. At the age six, her father got confidence in her and started making tracks and later got her a chance of recording 5 songs. At the age of seven, she did another recording of 10 tracks. This album was entitled "Mseme Yesu Watu Wapone"
HER MUSIC GOSPEL AND THE COMMUNITY
She sings Gospel Music, she loves God. She also has other related educative songs like a song called 'RUSHWA'(corruption) which has played a great role in corruption awareness campaign others are Elimu ni mwanga (Education is the light) Nawasihi Wazazi (I beseech the parents) and Imarisha Familia (Strengthen the Family). As a Tanzanian, she has participated in different awareness and government occasions.
• On 15th -- 16th June, 2006 she took part in singing at the Africans Child Day held in Dar es salaam at Mnazi Mmoja.
• In June 15th 2007, Miriam performed at St Gaspars Hall in Dodoma where The First Lady mama Salma Kikwete was the Guest of Honor launching the World's Education Report.
• On 16th June, 2007, she performed at Jamuhuri Stadium in Dodoma. His Excellency President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwate was the Guest of Honor.
• Because of her touching and educating songs like ' Nawasihi Wazazi' and 'Elimu ni Mwanga' , Miriam also got involved in disability awareness campaigns.
It is of no doubt that due to her participation in the community based campaigns, she was awarded 'BEST AMBASSADOR' to the community for the year 2011- 2012 by the Tanzanian Gospel Music Awards.
Currently Miriam is planning to reach Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe and somehow South Africa through the new songs she has recorded in Chewa language.
CHALLENGES
• Lack of breil typing machine which she has to use in school for writing.
• Lack of financial support for both school materials and her talent. Am sorry to say that her first album has not benefited her much due to Pilate and carelessness of the distributor.
• Luck of music instruments has delayed a lot of things to boost her talent.
We parents of Miriam we believe that disability is not inability. That's why we have done our best to do what we can to make Miriam reach where she is now. We still have a long way to go since Miriam has a dream of becoming an Advocate to defend the rights of the disabled children. If you are touched please we ask for your support in either material all financially.
Miriam has a brother who was born with cerebral pulse problem and caused him being disabled. Besides this he is seen to have a talent in playing music instruments. He has delayed to go to school due to his situation. We are taking him for Physiotherapy services. We have already started seeing changes. Handling this requires a good financial status. The situation sometimes gives us tough time in being faithful to our employers. We would like to be self employed since we have skills like Audio &Video Production and marketing.
It has been prepared by the biological parents of Miriam and her brother Obadiah. We don't want the children to look hopeless while we are strong enough to work and support

them. So we ask for your support.
